Collector's Valet Box — Blue Poppy Studio

Some objects are useful. Some are beautiful. The best ones refuse to choose.

The Collector's Valet Box is a hand-painted wood open valet tray, 6" × 6" × 1.5", finished inside and out with decoupage, paint, and an epoxy bowl that gives the interior a luminous, glass-like quality. Use it on a vanity or nightstand for jewelry, rings, and small treasures — or prop it on a bookshelf and let it live as the art object it is.

Every surface is considered. The exterior is hand-painted and decoupaged with a complementary pattern, trimmed in coordinating or gold paint. The interior bowl features a bold, detailed illustration sealed in smooth epoxy. Turn it over and you'll find a small thematic detail tucked in the corner — a monarch butterfly, a damask flourish, a botanical sprig — each one signed by the maker.

Available in three designs: a dramatic dark peony and rose composition in deep jewel tones on a midnight ground, with a cream and gold botanical exterior; a vibrant folk art bird in teal carrying a bold red poppy, with a rich red damask exterior; and a Victorian botanical illustration featuring palms, ferns, and hand-lettered Latin specimens on white, with a painterly landscape exterior and gold trim.

Each piece is one of a kind. When a design sells, it may be retired or reimagined.

Care The epoxy interior is durable and easy to wipe clean with a dry or barely damp cloth. The exterior is finished with three coats of varnish — avoid moisture and prolonged sun exposure to preserve the finish.
